Southern Oregon in January 2021. Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center offers seven trauma/vascular/general surgeons, and four of them also offer bariatric surgery services. Before this, I worked at the bedside for 15 years, caring for surgical post-op patients, including those who have undergone a bariatric procedure. This patient population is dear to my heart because I had a VSG in 2014. In addition to the knowledge, I had through personal experience, I have expanded that immensely since beginning this role. I enjoy helping organize the pathway to ensure every patient has a positive experience in our program and they are excited to start their post-bariatric lifestyle after surgery.
