Dr. Dillard is a native of Alabama where he attended the Univ. of South Alabama before earning his medical doctorate from William Carey Univ. College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his surgical residency training at the Univ. of Texas HSC at Houston.
He pursued specialty training in surgical robotics and bariatrics at the Tower Health Reading Hospital minimally invasive surgical fellowship. During his time there, he received extensive exposure in the comprehensive care of the obese patient population.
He is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgeons. He is certified in the use of robotic surgical devices and advanced upper endoscopy. He is affiliated with the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as well as the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Dillard’s mission is to provide the highest quality of care in the treatment of obesity as a chronic disease. He believes this involves a multidisciplinary team approach utilizing surgical means to produce long-term, effective weight loss. He is pleased to offer an array of surgical procedures including duodenal switch, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass, each tailored to the patients’ specific needs. His comprehensive approach to metabolic and bariatric issues can be considered in obese patients suffering from diabetes mellitus, hypertension, high cholesterol, acid reflux, polycystic ovarian syndrome and infertility, pending organ transplants and joint replacement.
