Dr. Mark Gorman is Director of Behavioral Services at The Center for Weight Management and Wellness at Brigham and Women’s Hospital & The Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at South Shore Hospital (offered in collaboration with Brigham and Women’s Surgical Associates). He received his PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Vermont and completed his post-doctoral fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School. Dr. Gorman has held an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School since 2005. Prior to coming to Brigham and Women’s Hospital he served as a staff psychologist at the MGH Weight Center for over a decade. His research and clinical interests focus on helping individuals with obesity, eating disorders, metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS), body image disturbance, depression, primary insomnia, and anxiety disorders – with a special focus on lifestyle change / obesity medicine, stress management, and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).
