I am a Licensed Psychologist. I have worked with the Essentia Health Bariatric program since 2007. I work collaboratively with the surgery team. I conduct presurgical psychological assessments and work with patients providing education and counseling before and after the surgery. I utilize CBT, ACT and other mind body interventions. I feel it is important to help people engage in health congruent behaviors (eating practices, exercise, and sleep) and address emotional health needs to help optimize a person’s surgery experience and outcomes.
