Jason Fraser

I am the Division Chief of Pediatric General Surgery at Phoenix Childrens's. Prior to this, I was a Professor of Surgery at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and the University of Missouri - Kansas City where I served as the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship Program Director, the Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program, and the Medical Director of the Opioid Stewardship Program. I completed my general surgery residency at Mayo Clinic Arizona, a research fellowship and pediatric surgery fellowship at Children’s Mercy Kansas City. I am the Chair of the Education Committee for IPEG and am a board member of the Midwest Pediatric Surgery Consortium where I am the primary investigator of several multi-institutional studies. I have received several teaching awards including the Golden Apple Mercy Mentor Award and the Children’s Mercy Surgeon-in-Chief Award. I have co-authored more than 125 peer-reviewed publications and I have given invited national and international presentations. I have mentored many students, residents, and fellows in research and surgical training. My clinical and research interests include complex minimally invasive surgery, chest wall deformities, endocrine disorders, physician wellness, and adolescent bariatric surgery.
