Dr. Gintas Antanavicius is a highly experienced bariatric and metabolic surgeon who is board- certified, fellowship-trained, and recently achieved Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Focused Practice Designation ( FPD) Certification. He specializes in advanced laparoscopic and complex robotic bariatric surgeries. His expertise includes performing procedures such as Roux- en-Y gastric bypass, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, vertical sleeve gastrectomy, and revisional surgery. He consistently updates his surgical practices by incorporating new technologies and techniques, including robotic system applications, into his broad surgical repertoire. Dr. G. Antanavicius currently serves as Chief of the Bariatric Surgery Division and Program Director of the Bariatric Fellowship at Abington–Jefferson Health. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Antanavicius has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and chapters.
