Christopher Taglia - Bariatric Surgeon

Bariatric Surgeon

Christopher Taglia

I was born and raised around New York City. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Miami in Florida, obtaining degrees in biology, Spanish, and psychology. I then returned to New York for medical school, where I attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. During my time in medical school, I participated in both volunteer work and research abroad in South America. I completed a general surgery residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, which provided an excellent experience in trauma, laparoscopy, and endoscopy. I then elected to pursue a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery and bariatric surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York. Following fellowship, I began a practice in Lompoc, California. The practice is a mix of bariatric surgery, minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, and broad general surgery with endoscopy. Thanks to a great team, in a short period of time, we have been able to achieve accreditation as a Comprehensive Center for bariatric surgery. We have also been able to achieve recognition as an SRC-accredited Center of Excellence for Robotic Surgery. I have a strong passion for helping patients accomplish their weight loss goals. Our practice offers both medical and surgical treatment for patients suffering from obesity. Other passions include management of gastroesophageal reflux disease and performing robotic surgery.
