Dr. Babineau is board certified in General Surgery and practices in Tyler, Texas where he is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at UT Health East Texas. He has been a specialist in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery since 2001 and has performed over 6000 Bariatric surgeries.
Originally from Rochester, NY, Dr. Babineau earned his Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and MD from The University of Rochester. He completed a residency in General Surgery at The Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY in 2001. After residency, he got back to his Texas roots on his mother’s side, and came to East Texas with his wife and 5 children.
