Dale Sloan

Dr. Dale Sloan is a native Hoosier from Laotto, a small town just north of Fort Wayne, IN. He attended East Noble High School and then made the big jump to Marion, IN to attend Indiana Wesleyan University (Marion College at that time). He stayed in state to attend Indiana Universtiy School of Medicine and stayed right there in Indianapolis to do his General Surgery residency at Methodist Hospital before starting his surgical practice in Fort Wayne in 1984. In 2005, Dr. Sloan started the Lutheran Health Network Bariatric Surgery program. He has completed over 2100 bariatric surgeries as of2020. The Bariatric program has changed significantly over the years with new information and procedures. Now many patients have only an overnight stay in the hospital with follow up in the out patient clinic therafter. He enjoys his grandchildren, pickleball and snow skiing. He has provided surgical care for Dominican Republic patients for a week a year for the last 30 + years along with his RN mother who still went on the Missions trip in 2019 at age 91. One of his greatest joys is seeing the transformation that can be the result of the weight loss and medical benefits of Bariatric Surgery.
