Johnny Wen, PhD was fellowship trained in neuropsychology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, accredited by the American Psychological Association.
After his post doctoral training, he spent several years teaching part-time at CSU-LB in various upper division courses, gender roles/sexuality, psychopathology, critical thinking, and psychological assessment. He authored over 10 peer-reviewed articles as well as a book chapter, published by Guildford Press.
Dr. Wen performed his first comprehensive bariatric pre-surgical psychological evaluation in 2006. Since that period, he has continued to work with bariatric surgeons in the Westside/Los Angeles Area. He enjoys working with other professionals to provide care to the patients. Dr. Wen was exposed to health psychology while working on research scholarship with Dr. Barbara Henker (studying optimism bias).
Outside of work, Dr. Wen enjoys theatre, bike riding, soccer and swimming with his wife and three children.
